Overnight queues on eve of EcoWorld’s Firsts project launches

Eco World Development Group Bhd’s (EcoWorld) recent launches under its Firsts campaign have received overwhelming response.

At one of the launches, potential buyers had queued up overnight.

Simultaneously launched on Sunday (Sept 25), the four projects are the first phase of Eco Grandeur in Ijok, Eco Ardence in Shah Alam, Eco Bloom @ Eco Meadows in Penang and Eco Business Park II in Iskandar Malaysia. The cumulative total value of products launched stood at approximately RM1 billion with more than 1,000 units or 80% already snapped up on the launch day.

The launches have received strong support despite the current challenging property market, said EcoWorld president and CEO Datuk Chang Khim Wah.

“I was told there were overnight queues in Penang for our launch there,” he said.

Eco Bloom, which is part of the 59-acre Eco Meadows township in Simpang Ampat on the Penang mainland, consists of a single residential tower with two storeys of retail lots. There are three types of units, with prices starting from RM388,000.

The project is a 4.86-acre freehold, mixed-use development with a GDV of RM283 million.

At 10pm last Wednesday (Sept 21), registrants for the first phase launch of Eco Ardence received SMS or WhatsApp messages inviting them to the Eco Ardence Sales Gallery @ Setia Avenue, Shah Alam for unit selection queue number collection.

Hundreds of queue numbers were given out in just a few hours prior to the launch day of the first phase of Eco Ardence and Eco Grandeur.

“By midnight, some 400 queue numbers have been given out,” Chang said, adding that these interested purchasers are mainly from nearby areas although some were from as far as Seremban. “Most were planning to buy for own-stay,” he said.

The first residential phase of Eco Ardence is known as Aeres, a landed strata gated & guarded residential parcel comprising 432 units of semi-detached and bungalow homes.

Meanwhile, for the first phase launch of Eco Grandeur in Ijok, some 500 queue numbers for unit selection were given out within a day from 10.30am on Sept 18.

“Most of the purchasers were from Kepong, Kota Damansara, Sri Damansara, Sungai Buloh, Shah Alam, Puncak Alam and Klang with a strong majority for own-stay,” he said.

The first phase of Eco Grandeur comprises two landed strata gated & guarded parcels comprising Avenham Garden Homes with built-ups from 1,778 sq ft and Graham Garden featuring double-storey terraced homes with built-ups from 1,521 sq ft.

As for the company’s projects in Iskandar Malaysia, Chang said: “Based on our sales numbers over the last two years, we have easily done about RM3 billion sales in Iskandar alone.”
